Lenovo Legion 5 15 Gaming Laptop Short Review

Lenovo's Legion 5 Pro ($1,529.99 as tested) delivers the latest AMD and Nvidia technology in a chassis that's a throwback to the days of heavy gaming laptops of yesteryear. Given the power, though, you might not care that the Legion is over an inch thick and that its design is a bit monotonous. It's built around a wide 16-inch QHD (2,560-by-1,600-pixel) display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, which sits between the more popular 15.6- and 17.3-inch panels with a 16:9 ratio. Lenovo has teamed an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 graphics, and it's off to the races—it beats its Intel competition in multithreaded benchmarks and it's also a step up from the Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 Next up its CPU and GPU pairing with similar features. And it does so at an aggressive price. If you're more about speed and value than an elegant, complete package, this may be a better choice than our current top gaming laptops of similar size, the Alienware M15 R4 and the Acer Predator Helios 300 (2021).
